Search Engine Optimization Meta Tags - Which Tags Matter?

If you're wanting to learn about search engine optimization meta tags, I'll start by giving you a vital tip: don't worry at all about the HTML keywords meta tag. This is an element that has somehow been considered by many to still be crucial for SEO. The truth is that it was created in 1996, was abused heavily for two years, then abandoned by almost all the search engines by 1998. Google completely ignores it and always has. Yahoo and Ask.com still use this tag, but you won't get any "bonus" points for putting your keywords into it.

So what are the best ways to use meta tags in search engine optimization? The two main tags you want to use are the title tag and the description meta tag.

The Title Tag
This is the dominant on-site SEO element. Now having said this, this does NOT mean you should stuff all your major keywords into a title tag. To do SEO well, you want to make sure you optimize your title tag for one, maybe two keyword phrases. Not only this, but realize that this is what people will be clicking - it should read well. Which would you prefer to click on: "Dog Food Big Dog Food Little Dog Food Dog..." or "Dog Food For Champion Dogs"? Even if you can get your listing to the top, if it's not something people will click on as much, the point has been somewhat lost.

The Description Tag
This fits well with the title tag as both of these are the HTML elements that show on the search engine results pages. The description tag should contain your main keyword phrase, but should still be readable and interesting to visitors. Tell them why the page is exactly what they're looking for. Spamming this tag with all your keywords will only push people away from your search engine listing.

The Keywords Tag
If you MUST use the keywords meta tag, then use it carefully, and remember that many competing SEOs will look at this first to see what keywords you're targeting for your page. Put other keywords you couldn't fit naturally into your page content that are still relevant and part of your page's theme, and keep them limited. Even deciding to put no keywords meta tag on your page will not hurt the SEO for your page.

The basics of search engine optimization meta tags you should remember from this is that the title tag and the description tag are very important but should not be abused, and the keywords meta tag is highly overrated should not be a priority.

When Being Number One Ceases to Be Adequate (Or Even Relevant)When Being Number One Ceases to Be Adequate (Or Even Relevant)

Companies looking for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services, invariably approach SEO companies, individuals and other entities with a solitary goal - to make their companies Number One against particular search terms that they specify to the search engine optimizers. In their quest for Numero Uno status, they fail to realize the significantly more important value of using the right keywords. For instance, if yours is a company that sells jewelery online, and you are Number one on the search string, "Mickey Mouse", it is highly unlikely that your Number one status on that particular search term would be of any use to you. Therefore, before you embark on a particular SEO campaign for your company, think about the goals that you wish to achieve through the entire exercise. Think way beyond just attaining Number one status on a particular set of keywords, even if they seem relevant.

For instance, pay heed to the conversion rates of the visitors, as well as their relevance to your business. To elaborate, suppose you have got the keyword sets right. Continuing the above example, you have managed to attain Number one status on the keyword search string "Pearl Jewelery from India", whereby you happen to be actually selling pearl jewelry from India. Are you actually analyzing the visitor pattern of your website? Perhaps, the profile of your visitors in such a case, is that they do come by your website, but eventually do not make a purchase. You need to analyze the reasons behind such unexpected and undesirable (at least from your point of view!) customer behavior. Perhaps the design or the look and feel of your website is not impressive enough for them to actually make a purchase. Perhaps your credibility, as perceived through your website, does not seem strong enough for visitors to fulfill their purchase plans.

There is also the possibility that your 'Privacy Policy' does not seem strong enough. Perhaps your purchase form is so long and elaborate that your prospective customers feel daunted to go through with the purchase. Last, but not the least, you may either not be providing adequate payment options to customers or the security on your website may not be strong enough for customers to feel secure with their data. As you can see, the possibilities are endless, and in quite a few of them, SEO has simply nothing to do. Therefore, it is critical that you pay heed to all the numerous factors that may be dissuading sales on your website, and not look at SEO as the sole savior and enabler of all the online sales that you wish to make.

Yet another factor that I have observed many companies ignoring is the relevance of the search engines to the geographies where they intend to be selling. For instance, in China, being Number one on Google may not be very useful, where the 'Baidu' search engine is far more popular. Similarly, for many other non-native English speaking countries where international search engines may not be as popular as the local ones. At the same time, you must have your pulse on your prospective clientele completely; there could also be the possibility that visitors coming in through Baidu may not be as strongly likely to make a purchase as those coming in through Google, in China. In this case, even with a smaller gross number of visitors, visitors coming in through Google would warrant much more attention as they would be the ones with the much needed purchasing ability and willingness.

Therefore, consider all of the numerous factors surrounding visits to your site, and the ensuing sales on it, before you embark on an ambitious SEO plan.

Manual Directory Submission Still Carries Value

If you want to get more customers, you need to be in the search engine result pages. Not only should you be in the page but you should also be in the first few results. Occupying top positing in search engine result pages is a dream of every website owner but one has to work extremely hard to see this dream becoming a reality. One of the many ways of achieving this task is manual directory submissions.

Manual directory submission is all about submitting your URL to different directories. Basically, it is one of the ways of building link and getting link juice for your site. Article marketing, contextual link building and reciprocal link building are few other options but directory submission is one of the most important options.

Here, it is crucial to mention that many experts not question the effectiveness of directory submissions. They believe it to be a technique that no longer carries any value. But, that's not true as directory submission is still a good way to build link popularity for your new websites. It is however crucial to mention that there surely are some changes in the effectiveness of manual directory submission.

Actually, there have been some major shifts in Google algorithm because of which many directories are no longer effective. Though some directories are plummeting in search results but some directories are still good to consider for submission. Finding those directories is the real catch. You can do so by checking if category page is listed in Google, Yahoo and other popular search engines.

The thing you need to know is that manual directory submission is still a good strategy. But, you must also understand the fact that not all directories are in a position to offer good results. If you use free directories, it doesn't really matter how much benefits you get from submission. But, you must pay special attention to this particular fact if you use paid directories. It is important to get some value out of your investment and that's the reason why it is better to get in touch with a professional SEO company. Google Vs Bing - Search Engines Gear For Battle - But Where is the War?

Every search engine optimization expert has been expecting this for a while: Microsoft coming up with a niftier, better search engine to combat Google's dominance on that market. Now that's done: Bing - and that's the name Microsoft chose for its new search engine - is out to kill Google.

Will search engine optimisation companies around the world get dragged into their little turf battle? Are we going to rethink the way we optimize our websites? Who will win the war for fast, relevant and up-to-date search results?

What we all hope

If you want my opinion, Google was simply getting too big for its own good. Despite its founders' "Do no evil" motto, more and more people are getting irritated by Google's perceived arrogance. It was getting urgent that some serious competitor steps in and re-level the playing field. Will Bing be that competitor? They have already promised that they are out to kill Google. I was nicely surprised to notice that Bing had crawled almost every page on my blog (for 6 months, Google just wouldn't do it). We all hope that, as it grows, Bing will yield more relevant, more up-to-date search results.

Why Bing may not make the cut

I tried out Bing for a few days. For one, Bing seems to be rather confused, especially when it comes to images search. On one search query, 90% of results were completely irrelevant. If you want my opinion, it's gonna take much more than a slick interface to kill Google. Google is more than the brand. They have come to represent in our mind, much more than the search engine. Google came up with the free internet economy: you like our stuff? Get it, free of charge. Leave to advertisers the care of footing the bill. Microsoft has always been at the other end of the spectrum.

To get to use their software, you had to pay a small fortune in licensing fees. Some search engine optimization experts have joked that they wouldn't be surprised that Bing will start charging for their search results. As search engine optimisation companies have come to know, nothing is predictable in the world of search optimization. Who knows, maybe someday not too far away, we will be Binging our way through the internet maize, while Google, forgotten and despised, will retire into some dark corner to lick its wound. It wouldn't be the first cyberspace casualty.

Tracking Your Search Engine Optimization and Marketing Efforts

It was once said about the cost of advertising, "I know that half of the money I spend on advertising is totally wasted, I just don't know which half." The same cannot be said about search engine optimization and marketing due to the incredible amount of documentable information on the internet. This information allows for more focus and precision in terms of targeting customers than ever before in any other medium.

Tracking the available information allows for extensive testing on what is working and what isn't which, in turn, will increase the efficiency of advertising and marketing efforts. The list of what can be tracked and tested is quite long but includes the following:

* How much traffic is there for the business category - This can determine the overall size of the online market, the budget required, and/or the viability of SEO/SEM

* What keywords are driving the most traffic in the category - What searches will lead visitors to your website

* How much competition is there for specific keywords - Going after highly competitive keywords in an SEO/SEM strategy may be counter-productive due to the high amount of resources and time required to move up in search engine rankings. Focus on can provide more immediate results

* How many visitors are coming to the site - Provides a base line to measure against for effectiveness of SEO/SEM

* How many visitors are search engine spiders/crawlers/robots - Another base line measure

* What keywords are driving traffic to your site now - If these are working, incorporating them in the SEO/SEM campaign is a must

* Unique vs. repeat visitors - Another baseline measure

* How long do visitors stay at the site - This can determine the effectiveness of keywords, possibly used in Pay-Per Click, the "stickiness" of the site, or whether there are navigation issues. If visitors are bouncing back off of the site within seconds, the keywords being used could be too broad in nature. Another factor could be that they're not seeing what they're looking for when they arrive so they "back" out. Figuring theses issues out is especially important if you're using PPC as you are paying for these visitors that are bouncing out immediately. If visitors are leaving the site after visiting a specific page it could be a sign that there are navigation or content issues that are driving visitors off of the site.

* Is PPC profitable - PPC in general is carrying less weight for visitors than say, eighteen months ago. The organic searches are what most visitors consider important so a review of the profitability of your PPC efforts is probably in order. If PPC is not generating enough leads or conversions that money might be better spent on SEO/SEM, focusing on a higher page rank.

These are only a few of the metrics that can be tracked online. The companies that are successful on the web are constantly testing, analyzing, and fine tuning their marketing efforts. Using the information available, you can too, and with a little determination and planning your website can be converted from an online brochure to a cash generating machine.

Search Engine Optimization Basics - Getting the Content Right

The first time I carried out Search Engine Optimization (SEO) was back in 1998. Back then things were so much simpler than they are now. Essentially all you had to do was put the keywords on the bottom of every page and with little other effort it was inevitable that you would get a substantial amount of traffic to your site.

Nowadays the web is so much larger which effectively means there are more competitor web sites around. However that is only half the story. With the advent of patented technology such as Page Rank, and search engines being more clever about how they undertake indexing and attributing importance to each page, life is a lot more complicated.

However it should be remembered that many of the methods used (or assumed to be used as most search engine companies keep their methodologies a closely guarded secret) have one purpose in mind, to give results to the user that the user will find useful and relevant.

With that in mind, it should be blatantly obvious to any person, especially a so called expert, that website content is going to be the most significant factor. If you think and contemplate this fact for a while you will realise that no matter how many articles you write, how many social networking links you create, if the target site has no content then you are not going to rank anywhere, if indeed your pages get indexed.

However it is not just content that search engines like and love to index, it's specifically original content. The mechanics of search engines nowadays involve removing a lot of duplicated content from their indexes. Back in the late 90's it was quite common for a search query to produce search results from different sites all containing almost exactly the same content. Nowadays, the first ten search results will differ as identical pages are removed from the main indexes. So if you want your site to rank well the conclusion is that not only do you need good content for your website, you need original content.

Only once you have created original content for your website can you really start thinking about Search Engine Optimization techniques and the rules to follow. The first of these rules is surprisingly frequently broken by people with little experience - making sure that all page on the site can be indexed by web search engines spider. Next is making sure that the text on the page is readable. Many web designers who come from a graphic design background place the text into an image file. The reason behind this is that it saves the designer worrying about having to create the style and layout they want using html and CSS. Whilst the site may look nice, the major issue with this is that search engines don't read the text in images (although undoubtedly this will change in future as text recognition software becomes more flexible and accurate).

If you concentrate on the content as the first part of an SEO campaign you will find that you will be a long way down the road to success rather than struggling with an uphill battle.

Search Engines Are Driven to Sites Based on Keywords

Dear Friend,

Keywords are used to in order to get attention by the search engine. When a search engine is driven to a site, a keyword is the reason it is. Due to this system, it has offered a lot of opportunity for people who want to use keywords to get people to their site. However, due to the overuse of these keywords it has also caused a lot of abuse as well.

In an effort to stop this abuse, search engines have designed an algorithm method where web crawlers can take a look at certain keywords and then determine if they are actually relevant.

Due to this, many people who are looking to get more traffic have used the method of article marketing to help them do so. With article marketing, you simply write articles that have useful content and strategically place keywords throughout the article. This can help generate much more traffic to your site, but the article must be informative to be effective.

Search engines usually gauge by looking at the beginning of the content. You need to make certain your best content may be in the first few paragraphs if you are looking for a short cut, but it is much more advisable to have the entire article be loaded with informative information that can help the reader.

It is ultimately best to write an article that can pass any search engines test. When you do not compromise the quality if your article, you have a much better chance of not only making a sale but increasing traffic to your site as well.

The Internet is growing each and every day and in this process there have been more need for laws to be enforced in order to make it not only a safer place but a more productive one.

Such as the case in most things, honesty is the best policy and you can be certain to be much more effective in your SEO efforts when you follow the rules that have been set by making your keywords appropriate in density as well as an article that is well written.

To your success

P.S. Be certain to take the advice and put it to use to help you have the best results in your SEO efforts.

The Advantages of Long Tail Keywords

Search engine optimization and the manner in which people search on the internet are evolving so fast that books on the subject can be outdated before they make it to print. One area in particular is the extension of single and two-word keywords into the optimization long tail keywords or key strings. In

many instances optimizing for one or two keywords can have several disadvantages. Among them are:

* They can be too general in nature- The term "mortgage" has loads of traffic but the term is not targeted toward anything specific. This keyword could cover someone looking to take out a loan, do a mortgage modification, or someone looking for a mortgage calculator.

* The competition for keywords can be intense - With high levels of competition, getting to the front page of the organic section of search engines can be a long and costly endeavor. Upon getting to the front page you'll still have a generic and untargeted visitor.

* Pay Per Click's can use up a monthly budget in a heartbeat - Highly competitive keywords have become very pricey. All of the top 50 keywords cost $50 or more according to spyfu.com. It's expensive and extremely frustrating to be paying that kind of money when you've got visitors bouncing back off of your site after being on it for less than ten seconds.

Longer key strings will not carry as much traffic but they do have distinct advantages such as:

* A longer keyword decreases competition and defines the searchers purpose to the point where you can anticipate their need and offer content that will greatly enhance your chance at conversion. A phrase like "loan modification mission viejo ca" is very focused. A searcher clicking through that finds that you have what they're searching for is highly likely to convert.

* Competition is decreased - It will be much easier and more cost effective to move up in page rankings. Being on the front page for 20 targeted key phrases will be much more advantageous than one front page listing for a generic term. A variety of long tail keywords can dominate specific small niches, providing less traffic but a much higher conversion rate.

* Pay per Click - Pay per Click becomes much more manageable if clicks aren't costing you fortune, especially if the click through's are converting.

It's easy to guess at a few keywords and assume that a website is optimized for them. This is area, however, where some research can go a long way toward determining the long term success of a website. The right key phrases will both make and save you money. Unless you're "fluent" in search engine optimization, having a pro do the research on key phrases that will drive targeted traffic to your site will be one of the best business investments you are likely to make.

One of the major issues that an SEO consultant faces is attending to the client's expectations. The client, for one reason or another, almost always expects more than can be done in the given timeframe and price.

The problem with SEO consultants is that they have a dilemma: They can either promise extremely optimistic results and then under-deliver or they can undersell and then overperform. If the SEO consultant under-delivers, he gets the project in the beginning but by the end of the project, loses the client's trust. If he over-delivers by first underselling, chances are that he will have a diffcult time getting the project in the first place.

While there are many SEO companies out there, they mainly provide benchmarks in terms of ROI, traffic, rankings and sales. The issue with these benchmarks is that most of them are not under the control of the SEO consultant. It would be wise to look at the points below so you know what NOT to expect from an SEO consultant. It will also help you make more sense of your SEO campaigns.

Here are some tips of what not to expect from an SEO consultant:

1. Never expect a certain ranking: The majority of SEO package buyers "want a certain ranking for a certain keyword in a certain timeframe for a certain price". It just cannot be done. Even though it is implied and might even be written in the contract in print that an SEO consultant does not have a direct influence on rankings, clients mostly gauge progress by rankings. Do not use rankings as a measure because it is subject to Google algorithms as well as a thousand other variables and it is outside the power of your SEO guy.

2. Never expect a one-time SEO: The majority of off-site SEO is recurring i.e. it needs to be undertaken from time to time. Even on-site SEO needs maintenance when you optimize for new keywords and change the layout of your website. Most clients expect a one-time SEO job to take care of all their rankings and their traffic etc. This simply is not possible.

3. Never expect the cost to be set in stone: The costs of SEO packages change because your rankings and competition changes (as well as the algorithms). A lot of buyers out there do not look kindly upon an increase in price to accommodate more competitive keywords etc. The price an SEO consultant charges is proportionate (in a reasonable manner) to the amount of work which needs to be done.

4. Never expect a quick ROI: Some clients check their website statistics every 4 hours after the SEO campaign is undertaken, hoping to see a drastic increase in rankings, a flood of traffic and an endless supply of cash in their bank accounts. Even the best SEO practices take weeks to take effect, so give it some time.

Now, the idea is a little old but this happened sometime back, almost when we were hit with RECESSION.

So, what makes such businesses successful?

6 Things That High Ranking Websites Have

When it comes to making your website search engine optimized, there are quite a few things that can be done to get more visitors and a higher rank for your site:

1. Exclusive page titles: Unique and non similar page titles are quite significant when it comes to ensuring that your website gets featured prominently in the search engines. The HTML tags of your pages indicate the essence of your website and make it possible for the search engine robots to crawl it more effectively.

2. Keyword Links: Search engines are able to look up web pages by linking and interconnecting them with other web pages. If the pages have specific keywords, then it becomes easier to give the page a better rank in terms of the keyword search.

3. Keywords in the pages: It is quite imperative to include well researched keywords on your web pages so that the SEO rank of your site becomes better. After all, it is the keywords that form the basis on which visitors look for sites, and on which the concept of search engine optimization is based.

4. Clean website design: You should not have too heavy or disorganized form of website that hinders SEO. Too many graphics are also a hindrance. It's best to get professional advice and help to make your content and the entire site SEO friendly.

5. Targeted content: Your website cannot be everything to everyone as that would make it too diffused and messy. It's always best to know which audience you are targeting and to go about catering in a focused manner to it. This also greatly improves your website rankings.

6. Relevance of links: One must be careful of the relevance and quality of content of websites and web pages that link to your site. This enhances your page's ranking and also makes your site more relevant and useful to your reader.

Following these useful tips as mentioned above can help your website get better ranks.

It's Tough Identifying an SEO Content Service That Really Knows the Right Way to Compose Articles

As a reliable article service I get a great many different requests from companies for search engine optimized articles, optimized content and successful press releases. But what strikes me most of all is the proportion of people who still demand keyword stuffing. Writing a professional article for submission to an article directory is one thing - but hurling every potential alternative of your keyword into every line is quite another.

Whether such people just have their own assumptions, or have used less reliable article writing services beforehand I don't know. But I just don't write articles for businesses knowing absolutely the damage that they could cause if not written correctly.

It's true that there once was a time when filling your websites full of keywords was effective. In fact, just adding as many permutations of related keywords and phrases as possible into the keywords meta tag was almost sufficient to get you to the top of the search results pages. But this was a brief time thank goodness, and the search engines picked up on it very quickly. Google immediately dismissed the keywords meta tag and has never paid it any attention since.

But even more than this, today search engines frown upon sites who overuse keywords, and creating what you think is an optimized article, but which is actually little more than a thesaurus entry, will be likely to cause great harm to your site. Demotion is the very least that you can expect, but you also run the risk of being blacklisted if you take it too far.

So how do you know how many keywords to include? There are theories that 5% is about right, but this is ludicrously dangerous. In a 500 word article, a keyphrase such as 'article writing service' would need to appear 25 times. If each sentence was about 20 words long, that would mean that every single sentence would have to include the phrase 'article writing service'. Quite apart from what the search engines would make of your writing, imagine how ludicrous it would seem to a human!

Even 2% density is taking a risk, since you'd still be talking about including your phrase in every third sentence or so, and the search engines will still pick up on this quite easily. It seems, therefore, quite difficult to know what sort of density to aim for. This is essentially the problem. Any article service that is still droning on about ideal keyword densities is stuck in the past. Today we are fortunate that such warped ways of writing are over, or at least being actively discouraged by the search engines.

So if it isn't keyword density anymore, what is it? There are two simple answers - quality and semantic language. The first of these is relatively easy to understand. Writing well, using good quality English, having something to say and saying it well will make sure that your work is seen, read and promoted.

At the end of the day it is not simply the search engines you should be aiming to please. If real people see your articles, and find them suitable, then you are more likely to find your articles syndicated, published elsewhere and linked to from more websites. The rules of most article directories are clear - syndication and reproduction is fine, as long as the author's resource box or links are kept intact. This allows people to use your article within their own websites, but as they must credit you, links to your web pages will also be included - generating more backlinks, more votes for your site and helping it rise up through the search results lists.

With reference to the other idea - semantic language, this is more misunderstood than keyword density, and will require a subsequent article at least to discuss and explain. But in brief, any article service that tells you that keyword density is necessary is stuck in the early part of this decade, and any article writing service that expounds writing semantically should also be avoided - since this is little more than keyword density by an alternate name.

Google Top Listing - 3 Steps to a Top Listing on Google

Most people know that getting your website listed on the first page of Google is an absolute must if you want to get significant traffic to your site. However most people have no idea how to do this. You can pay a lot of money to get a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) company to do it for you, but in most cases this is not necessary.

With a little effort you can easily get your site listed on the first page of Google for next to nothing and enjoy the benefits of a constant stream of targeted traffic to your website. I have done this many times for my own, and many friends and colleagues' websites. If you follow the steps below you can't go wrong.

So what are the basic steps you need to take?

1) Find the best search terms to get listed for.

This step is often overlooked but is actually the most important step. It's no use getting a top listing on Google for a search term that nobody uses. Likewise a top listing for a search term that isn't totally relevant to your site isn't going to do you any good, no matter how many people are searching on it.

Google has a tool that allows you find out the number of people who are searching on any given word or phrase. You can then find the phrases that are a) highly relevant to your site and b) will attract the most searches.

To access this tool simply type "Google keyword tool" into Google and click on the top listing.

Note: Try to pick the less competitive keywords. The are often the ones that contain 2 or 3 words. They will be much easier to get a top listing Google for. The "advertiser competition" bar in the left hand column of the Google keyword tool gives you an idea of this.

2) Pepper your website with the phrases you identified above.

This step is called "on-page optimization" and tells Google which search terms to list your website for. You must limit the number of search terms you want to get a top listing for to 2 or 3 per page of your website.

The 3 most important places you must include your key phrases are

- Your URL (website Address) eg. yourkeywords.com/more-keywords-here

- Your title tag. This is a simple piece of HTML code that's located in the "head," or top, of your Web page.
Within the source of your web page, it looks something like this:

Insert keyword-rich site description here

If you don't know how to edit your website your web designer can change your title tags very easily.

- Your website copy - placing your keywords throughout the text in your website is vital if you want a top listing for those keywords.

3) Get links pointing to your website from other relevant and high ranking websites

Getting links to your site is essential for getting a top listing. This tells Google that your site is popular and valued by other sites. But it's not the number of links that is the most important factor. It's the quality of the links. Quality links come from sites that have a high listing in Google themselves and are relevant to your site. Its no good getting links from low ranking sites or sites that have nothing to do with yours. This can actually hurt your ranking.

The 3 best places to get links from are:

- Directory sites that relate to your subject - do a search using the word "directory" and your keywords to find these.

- Article sites: These are sites where you can publish informative articles about your subject and get a link back to your site. Google values these links very highly. The best article submission site is ezinearticles.com.

- Online discussion forums and groups that relate to your subject. Post a useful comment on a forum and use your website link as signature. Do not overtly promote your website here though as you may get banned from the forum and get your posts removed.

Note:

Google may take a few weeks to register your links and push you up the listings. If you have followed all the steps above just keep adding links and you will see your site move up to the top of the listings.

Drive Targeted Visitors to Your Website With an SEO Report

Are you looking to increase relevant and targeted visitors to your website?

A search engine optimisation report will analyse your website; looking at where improvements can be made to increase your websites position in the search engines. A higher position in the search engines equates to more traffic.

There are two core areas that an SEO report analyses; on-site and off-site.

On-site SEO assesses how your website is constructed. There are many standards that search engines look for in a website; HTML, CSS and JavaScript languages must all be written to strict standards for compliancy.

If these high website standards are not met then your competitors may gain an advantage over you. You could run a the report on your competitors and compare that report to your own websites report to find out where your competitors weak points are.

Off-site SEO assesses how poplar your website is. The more relevant website thank link to yours, the more popular your website is. The Google PageRank algorithm calculates how many relevant websites link to yours and positions your website in the search engine results accordingly.

An SEO report will calculate your PageRank, determine how many websites link to yours and evaluate the importance of the websites linking to yours.

Every aspect of your website that is analysed, both off-site and on-site, will be reviewed in-line with your keywords. After all, it's the keywords that users will search for and land on your website.

An SEO report is also a very good way of measuring any alterations to your website before and after commencing optimisation. Since an SEO report will measure all aspects of your website and it's completely free to run the report. Why not run the report on your website monthly to see is progress is being made?

New SEO Black Box

The New SEO Black box is the latest piece of software to add to your SEO arsenal of tools. It aims to boost traffic by achieving a number of things namely:

1. analysing your competitors for particular search engine keywords.
2. analysing the links of your competitors.
3. submitting your site to authority pages.
4. submitting your related articles to article directories.

All of this is is aimed to boost your SEO page ranking, improve your visibility, generate more traffic and ultimately beat your competitors.

The true value of the system is not just in the use of keywords and optimising your webpage, but is in the identification and generation of back links to your site. By mimicking your competitors and doing just a little extra, you can easily outdo them on any search engine.

When Google first came about, many of the SEO tips and trick revolved around keywords. If your site had popular keywords and was relevant to the searchers enquiry, then your page got boosted and ranked higher than other pages that weren't quite as relevant to the searchers enquiry. Over the years though, Google's algorithms have changed (and the other search engines have followed) and now place a greater emphasis on links and back links, particularly to 'authority sites', listing on web directories and so on. In actual fact, SEO has much less to do with the keyword than the general population is led to think.

The challenge though for any budding SEO entrepreneur is finding the time to do all of this work and still maintain balance in ones life. This is where software can play an enormous part in your SEO development. Software such as the New SEO Black Box (which uses SEO Elite software) is invaluable, because it saves you a massive amount of time by practically automating the process. It will search your competitors sites for links, assess link quality, identify site owners so you can email them and have your site added to their list, submit articles to a large number of article directories and so on. In fact the only thing the software doesn't do, is make you a cup of coffee. (there are some things you still have to do yourself!).

Without this software, I can say that I would still be up at all hours if the night and day, probably for a few weeks, manually entering links, articles and so on. With this tool, I can practically spend an hour (perhaps 2 hours tops) and have achieved a few weeks of work in the space of a few hours. Automating SEO couldn't be easier.
